Graph Relation GR
When we have an equation , a function , or an inequality such as f(x) , g(x) , x , y , = , < , > , ≤ , ≥
X is the input and y is the output , the ordered pair is (x,y) , is goes first.
We use it to find:
The graph for a function or relation. Write y instead of f(x), the graph of a function f is the set of all points (x, f(x)). Sometimes they use g(x) , h(x) , p(x) , they are the same thing. they all means y.
Graph Relation GR STEPS:
1- Ctrl N
2- Add Graph
3- del 6: Relation
4- replace f(x) by y and type the equation or the inequality the way it is.
Example 1:
Graph the following equation f(x)=3x+4 ?
Solution 1:
Example 2:
Graph the following inequality 3y + x < – 4 ?
Solution 2:
Practice :
GR-1 Graph order pairs on the Coordinate plane (x,y) and find Quadrant I,II,III,IV.
GR-2 Graph Linear , Quadratic and Exponential equations and functions.
GR-3 Graph inequalities and a system of linear equations and inequalities.
GR-4 Graph Quadratic and linear equations and find if the line is a factor.
GR-5 Graph Linear Equations , compare the lines graphed ( steeper – less steep – parallel – shifted up – shifted down )
GR-6 Graph Quadratic Equations , compare the parabolas graphed ( narrower , wider , up , down , right , left )

Graph Relation Trace GRT
When we have an equation , a function , or an inequality such as f(x) , g(x) , x , y , = , < , > , ≤ , ≥
We Graph it and Then we Trace the graph. Menu 5 1
We use it to find:
1- y-intercept
2- The point (x,y) , if you are given x you can find y and vice-versa.
3- Solve Linear Equations.
Graph Relation Trace GRT STEPS: y-int and point (x,y)
1- Ctrl – N ( If it asks to if you want to save click No )
2- Add Graph , Enter
3- del 6: Relation ( Remember f(x)=y )
4- Write down the relation the way it is. Enter
5- Menu 5 ( Trace ) 1 ( Trace Graph )
6- Enter → This always take you to y-intercept (0,y-int)
7- Press Esc ( Top left button in the calculator )
8- Hover with mouse and move the y-intercept point to an empty space in the screen. and you will get the point (x,y).
9- Double click where you want to change the x or the y as asked in the question.
Example 1:
for the Graph of the linear equation 2x-6y=3 , What is the value of y when x=-3 ?
Solution 1:
Example 2:
Evaluate f(4) for the function f(x)=½x-6 ?
Solution 2:
Graph Relation Trace GRT STEPS: Solving Linear Equations
1- Ctrl – N ( If it asks to if you want to save click No )
2- Add Graph:2. Enter
3- del 6: Relation ( Remember f(x)=y )
4- Write down the equation ( make sure to switch the letter used in the equation to x ) . Enter
5- Menu 5 ( Trace ) 1 ( Trace Graph ) Enter
Example 3:
What is the solution to the equation 8x-3(2x-4)=3(x-6) ?
Solution 3:
Practice :
GRT-1 Graph the function and find y-intercept and find point (x,y)
GRT-2 Evaluate function notation , f(x)
GRT-3 Solve linear equations

Graph Relation Analyze GRA
When we have an equation , a function , or an inequality such as f(x) , g(x) , x , y , = , < , > , ≤ , ≥
We Graph it and Then we Trace the graph. Menu 6
We use it to find:
1- Slope or the rate of change (rate).
2- Zero or the x-intercept ( root or solution ).
3- Vertex, Maximum or Minimum for Quadratic functions Graphs.
4- Intersection (x,y) between 2 lines
Graph Relation Analyze GRA STEPS
1- Ctrl – N ( If it asks to if you want to save click No )
2- Add Graph:2. Enter
3- del 6: Relation ( Remember f(x)=y )
4- Write down the relation the way it is. Enter
5- To find the Slope , press Menu 6 ( Analyze ) 5 ( dy/dx ) , click on the line and get your answer.
6- To find the Zero, press Menu 6 ( Analyze ) 1 (zero) , a vertical dotted line appears , Enter before the x-intercept and move to after x-intercept and press enter. you would see the word zero in yellow.
Note: sometimes you might need to zoom out the graph ( Menu 4 4 ). if needed!
Example 1:
What is the Slope of the line with the equation y+4=4x ?
Solution 1:
Example 2:
What is the zero of the line with the equation y+4=4x ?
Solution 2:
Example 3:
What is the intersection of the system of the linear equations 3x+y=-1 and x+2y=-7 ?
Solution 3:
Practice :
GRA-1 Finding the zero and slope of a linear graph given the equation.
GRA-2 Finding the solution of a system of equations
